CONTRIBUTION OF THE McKENZIE METHOD TO THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF THE SPINE IN ATHLETES
The McKenzie Method has been initially designed to assess and to treat spinal disorders. It evolved to become a comprehensive system of assessment and treatment of the entire musculoskeletal disorders.
These disorders, including those of the spine, are limiting factors for sport practice. To get the best treatment, it is necessary to consider these disorders' characteristics among sport practitioner.
The principles of assessment and treatment seem very relevant and useful in this patient population.
