ETHICS AND PHYSIOTHERAPY:
common and specific interests
Ethics is a very current and commonly accepted philosophy. Our own professional questions may involve access to care: who to accept when we have a waiting list and little space? They may concern the usefulness of care: whether to carry out sessions because they are prescribed and we think they are justified yet the patient refuses them or does not feel the need. And many other subjects.
No one would dispute the necessity of the use of an ethical approach in their practice. But ultimately, what is ethics? Why is it interesting to apply it to our daily practice? What does it provide on an individual and professional level?
