La loi Hôpital, patients, santé et territoire (HPST) a rendu obligatoire la proposition d'une éducation thérapeutique pour les patients souffrant de maladies chroniques. Elle peut se présenter sous forme d'un programme autorisé par les Agences régionales de santé (ARS) ou intégrée aux soins avec des « actions d'accompagnement » et des « actions d'apprentissage ».
Le réseau Sud-Isère GRANTED a développé un programme qui fonctionne depuis 2011.

The law « hospital, patients, health and territory (HPST) » has made therapeutic patient education compulsory for patients suffering from chronic diseases. It can be given in the form of a program run bu the ARS Regional Health Services or integrated into patient care by « accompanying » patients or by teaching them « learned actions ».
The Sud-Isere network « GRANTED » developed a program which has been running since 2011.
